Red Rust Pioneers is being developed by fish in a bottle, a small, independently owned UK game development studio with a passion for handcrafted, immersive experiences. Rusty Robot is the name of fish in a bottle’s publishing label.
Founded and led by games industry veteran Drew Wilkins, who brings over 25 years of experience across PC, console, mobile, and web games, the Rusty Robot team includes a tight-knit group of designers, developers, artists and producers. We’re a professional studio, not a collective of hobbyists, with a track record of delivering high-quality games for global clients.
Until now, the team has been best known for its extensive work-for-hire projects. But Red Rust Pioneers marks a new frontier: our first original IP for Steam, and a project we couldn’t be more excited about. Built with Unreal Engine 5, and driven by a love of survival games and cinematic Westerns, we’re pouring everything we’ve got into crafting a world players will want to survive, explore, and settle in.
