Hello... 3D Artists

Ready to create art that brings games to life?

Remote Working

Full-time / 6 month contract

Posted: 20 March 2026

About you

You're a versatile, creative 3D artist with a broad skillset and a genuine love of making things look and feel great in games. You can take an asset from concept through to implementation, you're comfortable in front of a timeline as well as a viewport, and you understand that great game art isn't just about it looking good, it's about things working well too.

You've got solid experience with 3D asset creation and you're equally at home in video editing software, putting together polished motion content alongside your modelling work. You have an eye for UI design and understand what makes an in-game interface intuitive and engaging, not just attractive.

You're adaptable. You've worked across different types of projects, perhaps a mix of stylised and grounded, commercial and purposeful games and you've learned to shift your creative gears accordingly. You communicate well, you take ownership of your work, and you're the kind of person who brings a positive energy to the team.

At fish in a bottle, we work on projects that genuinely matter, from games that teach to worlds that immerse.

If you're someone who enjoys wearing multiple creative hats and want your work to make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.

About the role

This is a hands-on creative role spanning 3D art, video production, and game UI design, sitting at the heart of two very different and equally exciting projects currently in development at fish in a bottle.

One is an educational learning game aimed at younger audiences, where clarity, usability, and engagement are everything. The other is an open-world survival game, more immersive, more systems-driven, with a strong emphasis on world-building and visual storytelling. You'll contribute meaningfully to both, and the variety is part of what makes this role interesting.

You'll collaborate closely with developers, designers, and the wider production team to deliver art that meets the creative vision of each project, adapts to its audience, and holds up technically. This is a role for someone who's genuinely multi-skilled and ready to contribute from day one, not someone looking to specialise in a single area.

What you'll be doing

  • Creating 3D assets for use in games, from initial modelling through to implementation-ready delivery
  • Producing and editing video content using tools such as After Effects and/or DaVinci Resolve
  • Designing clean, intuitive UI for in-game interfaces, balancing aesthetics with usability
  • Adapting your creative approach
  • Collaborating with developers to ensure assets are optimised and integrate smoothly into the game environment
  • Contributing to environment art and world-building where the project demands it
  • Supporting occasional graphic design tasks as needed, though this is not a core focus of the role

What we're looking for

  • Solid, demonstrable experience in 3D asset creation for games. This is the cornerstone of the role
  • Strong video editing skills, with hands-on experience in After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent tools
  • A good eye for game UI design, with an understanding of how to design interfaces that are both functional and visually coherent
  • Experience with Blender and Substance Painter as core tools in your workflow
  • Familiarity with at least one game engine - Unreal Engine or Unity. Sufficient to implement and review your own assets in-engine
  • Versatility and a willingness to move between different creative disciplines across different projects
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, proactive approach. We're a small team and everyone's contribution counts

Desirable but not essential:

  • Environment art experience
  • A technical art background with an understanding of optimisation and asset pipelines
  • 2D game art experience

Don't worry if you don't tick every single box. If you've got a strong foundation across most of what we're looking for and you're excited about the kind of work we do, we'd still love to hear from you. We hire for great attitudes as much as we do for a perfect skills match, and the right person might not look exactly like the job description on paper.
