Wiley Interscience Promotional Game

Global publishing giant Wiley have commissioned fish in a bottle to develop a promotional game for its Interscience division.

The game, called Stack Attack, asks the player to complete a series of falling block puzzles in order to progress through levels and achieve a high score.

Drew Wilkins, Account Director at fish in a bottle said, "As well as having fun solving puzzles, players are exposed to some subtle promotional messages. We were able to guide Wiley Interscience away from using anything too overt. The best results come from designing the experience carefully and create a welcoming atmosphere before delivering campaign messages."

On the topic of message delivery, Drew commented, "People are very aware when they're being given the 'hard sell' and overt promotion can easy have a negative impact. We go out of our way to give something back. People are generally satisfied that they've come away having gained something positive from the interaction with a brand."

Online and offline versions of the Stack Attack game have been produced, allowing Wiley to take the product to exhibitions and trade shows around the world. The offline version includes features that allow Wiley Interscience to run competitions based on hiscore tables.

The online version of Stack Attack is available on Wiley Interscience's website.
