303 Squadron Takes to the Skies

7th Aug 2010

Battle of Britain: 303 Squadron, our latest online game for Channel 4 Education, has just gone live.

The single and multiplayer game recreates a turning point in the Battle of Britain when a single squadron of Polish fighter pilots dominated the skies and changed the course of the war in favour of the Allies. In it players can experience the highs and lows of being part of the RAF or join forces with friends online to play through a series of exciting missions from World War 2.

We’ve used a combination of stunning photography, 3D rendering and animation to deliver the highest production values. That combined with team AI, scalable multiplayer technology and social network integration makes Battle of Britain: 303 Squadron one of the most exciting online game releases to date.

Based on factual research the game takes entries from the squadrons’ diaries to move players through the full story of the squadron’s formation, their training, victories and defeats leading to their ultimate betrayal by the Allies.

By the time the Battle of Britain was won, 303 Squadron had shot down 136 enemy planes, ranking them as the deadliest RAF squadron of World War II.
