Connexions

Connexions, the youth guidance organisation, have commissioned fish in a bottle to revamp their Essex, Southend and Thurrock web presence by creating a fully interactive, game-like experience.

To make the experience as immersive as possible fish in a bottle have created a street scene populated with interactive characters and games.

Justin Eames, Managing Director of fish in a bottle said, "Delivering important information in the most effective way possible was a major challenge with the Connexions project. The site has to appeal to a broad range of people. Whilst one visitor may be a college student looking for information on universities, another may be a vulnerable person looking for a way out of a desperate situation. We've taken this challenge seriously and worked hard to deliver the right messages in the right way by immersing the visitor in a familiar game-like environment. In places we've deliberately offered more content as a reward for exploration so that visitors return and soak up more and more information over time."

Connexions have made a commitment to keep the site fresh by commissioning fish in a bottle to develop new areas and further game content.

The new website is standards compliant and all major content is managed via a CMS, giving Connexions the freedom to manage information and news articles.

The project was built in partnership with Solid State Group who worked on the content management and HTML part of the build.

The Connexions project went live in December 2004.
